Dr. Lisa Beagan, DVM - Veterinarian

Dr. Lisa Beagan began her veterinary career as a partner in an equine practice in Maine, and spent her workdays making farm calls throughout the beautiful New England countryside in a well-stocked truck. She enjoyed getting to know and working with her patients where they were most comfortable—at home—and wanted to offer that same service to pet owners. When she founded Mobile Pet Vet in 2003, it was with a vision of promoting veterinary health care “with less stress for you and your pet.” The home exams offered by Mobile Pet Vet not only make the veterinary visit a happier one for your pet, but also allow Dr. Beagan to pursue her goal of building a deeper relationship on a personal level with your pet, and with you, the owner.

Dr. Beagan is a 1995 graduate of the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. After two years in equine practice (working at a small animal referral practice on her days off), she moved to Florida with her husband Dave, who was in the Navy, and worked in a small animal clinic. Her time in the Sunshine State, with its giant bugs and year-round allergies, sparked an interest in dermatology. After several years in Florida, Dr. Beagan settled in Maryland and opened Mobile Pet Vet to pursue her passion for small animal internal medicine, but through the home visits she’d enjoyed as an equine practitioner. (Albeit with a slightly smaller vehicle!) She’s also in the process of completing a veterinary acupuncture certification through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society, and hopes to integrate eastern and western medicine modalities in the practice.

Prior to becoming a veterinarian, Dr. Beagan completed General Electric’s financial management program and held management positions in sales, marketing, and finance with GE Plastics. Those experiences have been extremely beneficial in her role as veterinarian and business owner! She enjoys educating pet owners about health and has published articles in magazines such as Dog Fancy, Cat Nip, and Veterinary Technician, and hosted an “ask the vet” forum for two years at VetCentric.com.

She currently resides in Severna Park with her husband, daughter, son, Dalmatian, Labrador retriever, cat, two guinea pigs, and many fish. When not chauffeuring her family, she enjoys tennis, horseback riding, traveling, reading, and all things “foodie.”

Dr. Jennifer Levitsky, DVM, CVA - Mobile Pet Vet

Jennifer Levitsky, DVM, CVA - Veterinarian

Dr. Levitsky joined Mobile Pet Vet in the spring of 2008 and has been a vital asset ever since. She majored in biochemistry and English at Bowdoin College. She then went on to Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine for her graduate degree where she attended classes with Dr. Lisa Beagan.  After graduating from Tufts and suffering through eight New England winters, she came back home to do a one year internship in surgery, general, and emergency medicine at Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington D.C. After her internship, she stayed on there for another year as their Director of Emergency Medicine. She then went on to the Emergency Veterinary Clinic in Catonsville and served as an emergency clinician there for about 3 years.  When not working with Mobile Pet Vet on Thursdays, she practices veterinary medicine full time at Arnold Pet Station and also works part time at Rosecroft Raceway as a racetrack veterinarian.

Dr. Levitsky is a licensed veterinary acupuncturist and has the amazing ability of combining western medicine with eastern to better treat pets needing specialized care. She has a special interest in dermatology and endocrine disease cases with diabetic kitties being her favorite. She’s also a big fan of weight control for pets especially as a means to preventing further diseases and increasing longevity.

In her spare time, she likes exploring Caribbean islands with white sandy beaches and blue water and is also an avid yoga enthusiast. However, she can usually be found trying to tire out her dog Josie, so she'll leave the two little gray kitties, Alfie and Zoe, at peace.

Robin Hennick, Head Technician, Office Manager - Mobile Pet Vet

Robin began her career as a Veterinary Technician in 1998. She worked as a technician in a traditional veterinary clinic for several years prior to starting with Mobile Pet Vet. She has been here since the inception of the practice and has been instrumental in all aspects of the business. For her, the personal touch of a house call visit is very rewarding, and much preferred to a traditional clinic setting.  She takes tremendous pride in her work and strives to always provide the best care for Mobile Pet Vet’s patients.

Robin grew up in the Annapolis area where she still resides. She is currently pursuing a college degree. When time allows, she is happy to offer pet sitting services to clients. The proud mother of a wonderful little boy, Robin enjoys spending as much time as possible with her family (including her spunky sugar glider Savannah). On her days off she also enjoys sea kayaking, hiking, camping, painting, and relaxing with friends.

Shelly Robertson, Veterinary Technician - Mobile Pet Vet

Shelly grew up in the Annapolis area and has been a veterinary technician since 2001. She joined the Mobile Pet Vet team in September 2008 and her technical knowledge has come in very handy to our home visits. Where another tech may fear an aggressive dog, Shelly looks at them as a patient to win over.  She has an uncanny ability to make even the most reluctant dog befriend her!

On her days off, she enjoys gardening, shark tooth hunting, bike riding, painting and drawing, and spending time with her boyfriend and family. She also loves traveling to new (preferably warm!) locations. She recently purchased a home in Severna Park which she shares with Brandon and her 3 cats.

Elen De Paula, Administrative Assistant - Mobile Pet Vet

Elen is the Mobile Pet Vet "Jack of all trades". She helps Dr. Beagan with all things financial and administrative.  She currently attends college in Howard County and is working towards becoming an accountant.

Elen's family lives in São Paulo, Brazil, where Elen attended high school. She is still getting used to the Annapolis winters! She recently moved to downtown Annapolis and shares her home with a roommate, a cat, and a dog. She enjoys rollerblading, camping, running, and spending time with her dog Bob.
